Wordless Wednesday: Sugar Cookies!

Holiday Sugar Cookies{Holiday Sugar Cookies} Every year I make sugar cookies with the kids and they decorate until they are bored! I usually never have many left to do. This year was no exception. Sugar Cookies with the classic powder sugar frosting remind me of my childhood Christmas’ and I really hope they bring MY children the joy they brought me every year!

Think what a better world it would be if we all, the whole world, had cookies and milk about three o’clock every afternoon and then lay down on our blankets for a nap. ~ Robert Fulghum

  3. Sooooo you aren’t posting the frosting recipe? :D

    • One Scrappy Mom says:

HAHA! It’s not really a recipe.. Powdered Sugar and milk.. until you get a good “not too runny” consistency.. I think it’s like 1/4 cup milk to the whole bag of powdered sugar. Add a drop of vanilla extract to flavor.. and whatever colors you wish :) It hardens perfect for storing the cookies on a platter or stacked :)

  4. I totally wish I had the patience to make & decorate cookies. Well, I do, but I also have a 2 year old. Maybe next year!

  5. I really need to get baking some cookies. Those look good!

  6. Just delicious! Mmm, I can’t stop eating the ones we cooked so I gave them to the neighbors

  7. I am horrible at sugar cookies. lol I cannot roll, cut, move or bake. They come out looking like nothing that went in! Yours are so pretty though! I’m jealous!

    • One Scrappy Mom says:

Jennifer, every time I’ve MADE the dough I’ve made a mess, but a friend suggested the betty crocker dough in the bags, I get 2 bags, and it’s MUCH easier to work with. The trick is ALOT of flour. Flour keeps everything from sticking.. So flour on the counter, flour on the cookie cutters, flour on the roller.. and even a little on the dough! The betty crocker dough seems to work best from what I have found :)
