The kids are in school, but after they leave in the morning it looks like a tornado has busted through my house. There are a lot of things out of place and a lot of things I wish I could wave my wand and have magical cleaned. I’ve spent a great deal of time with the kids and extra activities, like crafts and projects. As a result of the fun from summer we have things everywhere in the house. I literally have boxes of craft supplies PILED on my kitchen table, which can no longer be used to eat on. I’ve kept the floors clean and things are not dusty and gross, but I certainly could use the help of a janitorial cleaning service. I’ve kept up on dishes, vacuuming, laundry and the necessities. I have some major re-arranging and organizing to do and it’s going to be nothing shy of a miracle to pull it off!

Now both of my kids are in school all day and I can’t bring myself to START the chores I have to do!! I need some inspiration to get back on track… Some rubbermaid? Labeler? Maid? Ideas?

As I said before there are going to be some NEW and EXCITING things happening here at OneScrappyMom!!

I’ve decided to spotlight some of my favorite iPhone {also working on the iTouch and iPad} apps. Every Thursday I will have an app for you. I will review the good, bad and the ugly with the app. I hope these reviews are useful for my readers and that you enjoy them. I should say all of these apps are available via iTunes an are compatible with iTouch, iPhone and iPad.

Today, I am going to feature the newest app I’ve downloaded and fell in love with! It’s the Walgreens App. There are so many neat features in this app! Here’s some of my favorite things:
• With just the enter of your RX number you can request a refill. This is so much quicker then dialing them and using the automated systems!
• You can upload photos taken with your phone to any Walgreens and have them ready in 1hour! Need a photo for Grandma in another state? You can send to ANY store!!
• Weekly ads – I live Walgreens for the 2 for 1 specials. I love that I can view the flyer on my app and see the things I may be I treated in getting from that week!
• Traveling and need a Walgreens? No problem!! Allow Walgreens to determine your location and you are all set. It will tell you where the nearest one is and give you directions!
• Shop online – you can shop through the app and add things to your cart! Need items delivered? No problem!

There really isn’t much that I don’t like about the app. It simplifies things an makes life easier for me. My one complaint is that when shopping you do have to go into several categories before you find the products. That can be time consuming.

Mater Lock has always been my FIRST choice in locks. I’ve been using them since high school {where they are recommended} and every place I’ve needed a lock since then. BOTH of my children have lockers at school and I am glad to have Master Lock to turn too. Master Lock truly has become more interesting and unique. The Precision Dial is amazing! It’s super easy to remember the combination; which we have set as up, right up, down. This is particularly handy for my son, who is only 6. He needs a lock though and this is nice for me because I don’t have to worry about the keys being lost or anything like that. The Speed Dial features include:

The new ZhuZhu Pets are part of the Wild Bunch! My kids LOVE the ZhuZhu pets. They have been fans for awhile and we have several of them and several accessories. I love the new WILD bunch. They are adorable. The kids had a blast with them too.

We had a ZhuZhu Wold Bunch party yesterday, August 28. The kids had a blast. We severed foods that were named to fit the theme of the party. We had cheese bites, trail mix and chocolate covered raisins. We also had some juice and some hot dogs as well. The kids enjoyed learning about the WILD bunch and playing with them! We had fun making graffiti with chalk all over the driveway. Then we got markers and drew and did graffiti all over a large sheet of paper. We cut this at the end and each child took a piece home, along with their chalk and their ZhuZhu WILD Bunch pet. I think Sweetie was pretty popular, as was Zhu but they were all very loved. It was great to see the children interacting with each other and playing with the ZhuZhu WILD Bunch.

As you can see from the pictures, the kids had a good time. There were busy playing and drawing and racing with the ZhuZhu’s. The party was a great time and later in the night the kids did smores over a bonfire with their ZhuZhu WILD Bunch pets. Many of the parent’s had seen and heard of the ZhuZhu Pets. Some of the kids had them. Others were new to the entire experience. It seemed like these were a huge hit. The mom’s were excited to have a toy that was simplistic but kept the kids SO happy and SO excited! All and all the party was a huge success and I think all the kids had a GREAT time!!

For years my husband has suffered from allergies. He’s tried a HUGE variety of medications and sprays and other things that he was hoping would work. Some of them helped for a short while, but then they stopped. Some things {like nasal irrigation systems} were just too much to do daily and several times daily.

Recently PureZone offered me their Personal Air Filtration system to try. I can’t say enough about this product. It truly has worked a miracle for my husband. He LOVES it. Setting up the system was pretty simple. All you had to do was put the fan unit on your choice of stand or brackets that are included, put the filter in place and snap the cover on, plug the remote in… set the unit next to your bed, add your pillow in the pillowcase and your set!

You use your choice of pillow in the pillowcase they provide that is a part of the system. The pillowcase is a soft cotton material and it is very comfortable so you shouldn’t have any problems with that. The air we breathe is full of irritants that can trigger asthma and allergy symptoms. Over 99.7% of airborne allergens and pollutants are removed through the charged fiber HEPA filter. The system IS clinically proven to reduce allergy symptoms. For my husband, this is VERY effective. Since we sleep in the same bed, I also notice some results for ME! My nose is not all dry in the morning like usual. I love the little white noise that comes from the fan unit. It’s the perfect rhythm that puts me to sleep in no time! My husband does work a swing shift schedule and sleeping GOOD has always been a challenge. With the PureZone system he is sleeping better all around. He sleeps longer, feels more rested and his allergy symptoms are nearly gone, without the $100′s spent monthly on allergy medications, sprays, etc that give him such very minimal results!

Another thing I should mention is that the unit has adjustable temperatures. This is one of my husbands favorite features. He is always WARM when he sleeps so with this he is able to control the temperature of the air. This in turn keeps him a comfortable temperature when he is sleeping. This not only helps him sleep better, but it keeps him less restless and sleeping through the night longer!

As you can see from the picture the PureZone system is small and takes very little room. It’s not a huge room unit {but I think this personally unit works better in that regards because you are keeping the purified air right in your area}. The remote is easy to use and does light up when you push the buttons. If you wake during the night and need to change settings the remote is nice for that. The pillowcase fills with the purified air. When you lay on it, the air filters around your head giving you the purified air to inhale both through your nose and through your mouth. This unit is QUIET. There is hardly any noise. I actually like the sound of having a fan on when I sleep and I am still sleeping with a white noise machine because this is pretty quiet. My husband does like the little hum from it and says it’s enough “noise” for him to sleep. I guess I like it a little louder then he does.

I honestly can’t say enough about this system. I never thought that we would find something to cure or help my husband’s allergies. He’s able to cut the grass and be outside without swelling up the next day and not being able to see from his eyes. He’s not sneezing all night long and that allows ME to sleep without waking up. He’s more rested and feels great. PureZone has truly been a blessing for us!!

School is about to start in full swing for us this Wednesday! We’ve been working on the morning routine all last week and continuing through to school begins. Mornings should include breakfast. Some mornings there is time for the full made from scratch type breakfasts. Other mornings there is not, or we have 2 different agreements on what to have for breakfast. I love that there are alternatives for me as a mom. Time savers. Aunt Jemima has been in my kitchen since I moved out of my parents house more then 12 years ago. I love her breakfast choices and it’s no wonder that my children do to. While I can understand some people will be against serving these premade types of foods, I am not. They didn’t harm me as a child and I have faith that the same recipes I’ve grown to love since childhood are the perfectly fine for my children. There are healthier alternatives, I am sure… I want my children to have a balance of foods and not love only 1-2 things. I call on the help of Aunt Jemima. We’ve always been HUGE fans of her French Toast.

Recently Aunt Jemima introduced her Confetti Pancakes. These are a HUGE hit in my household. Both my son and daughter LOVE them! We top them with some peanut butter and bananas and it’s a healthy and great way to start their day. Sometimes they DO have them with syrup but I love to sneak in the extra fruit serving when possible. I love the different variations that I can make though. Because they are premade, I save the time on that and if it’s a busy morning we are all set to go! If I have more time, I can make faces and what not with bananas and peanut butter. We camp quite frequently and we love having bonfires. Roasting marshmallows for smores and having hot dogs by fire are a few things we enjoying doing.
