I guess you could say that taking some adventure and risks is our kind of thing. Planning out activities for everyone when you are on vacation can be a hard task. Everyone has a different idea of fun and since we are all different heights and weights finding something everyone could do was a little bit of a task. My husband really wanted to zipline. I knew this wasn’t something that I could physically do. Climbing the multiple sets of stairs isn’t something that I can do. My daughter wanted to do it also. I thought it would be a great bonding experience for them. I set up a time for them to zipline with Soar & Explore. This seemed like the perfect place. Since it’s located right on Broadway at the Beach there was plenty of things for my son and I to do while my husband and my daughter ziplined. In the end, we ended up sitting by and watching all the zipliners. It was so neat to watch them! I got some video of my husband’s zipline here:
I have never ziplined, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had seen it in the past at Myrtle Beach and other places. I love adventure and thrill so this was something I wanted to try. The course was VERY smooth and the staff were very friendly. They explained the landing so I knew what to expect and wasn’t thinking I was going to zipline right into a wall. I felt like they were1 caring and compassionate. My daughter got all the way up to launch and she was too scared to go. The staff did their best to reassure her, but when it was clear she wasn’t going to go, they were very polite. They told her that it was okay and she was brave for making the attempt. They never made her feel bad. He asked her to hold on for just a moment while he unhooked her and explained she’d have to walk back down the steps she had come up. They were incredibly sweet. She already felt bad for taking up the time and space, but they didn’t want her to feel bad. I cannot give the staff enough compliments on how they handled that situation! I was impressed! It was my turn to take off. I was a little uneasy at first, this was the first time I had done it so of course that unknown was there. After I launched off for my first ride I was at ease. The ride went smooth and it was neat to see everything from the view I did. Once I got to the other side it was time to turn around and do it again. This second time was with ease! I enjoyed it even more now that I didn’t have the unknown. I landed with ease and it was over. I headed down the steps, handed my gear off to the staff and headed over to the hut to see my photos. Not only would I recommend this course, but I would do it again. It is a shorter course, so it’s perfect for first time zipliners. It gave me the chance to experience it and have a chance to not be stuck if I decided it wasn’t for me.

Together both of the adventures is a fun and exhilarating experience. They are definitely memorable for my husband. My daughter opted out of going this time. She couldn’t work up the courage to go across. The water under scared her. That’s okay, maybe next year! By next year my son will have the couple extra inches on him go across!
