Polly Pocket has been around for years. It’s been a while since I have seen the original smaller sets. While I LOVED the portability of the smaller sets, the pieces and the figures always scared me. They were so little. I will never forget the time I was babysitting and the little one I was babysitting for stuck the figure up her nose. It was SO scary, but she didn’t get it up too far and we were able to grab it and pull it out with our fingers. It could have easily been a nightmare. She was within the age guidelines for the toy too. When I see Polly Pocket with the redesigned play sets I have to admit, I was smitten. I loved them so much. My daughter had never really asked for them, but open getting them for her to see, she fell in love with them. We actually played together (shhh don’t tell). I love the new suction cup bottoms. They are a very nice addition to the toy. When you have smaller pieces they tend to not want to stay upright, so the suction cups helped that!
My daughter LOVES animals, so this play set was perfect for her. She ripped it out of the box faster then I could run for the camera!
She seen pets and she fell in love. I think a lot of little girls love pets, so this play set is different from the other one as the other is more like a house and hangout, were as this one is all about the pets. The pets are adorable and they look pretty realistic. Sometimes I think toys get a little cartoony in that aspect, but these are just cute. It’s actually quite funny because my daughter and I have been “stealing” the rabbit from each other! He’s so cute and I love him. She keeps asking for a rabbit as a pet and I keep saying no. No more pets in this house! We have a dog and fish, which is more then enough for us. We travel a lot so we always have to find sitters. Anyhow.. This play set is adorable and has a lot of cute things. I love the love birds on the swing as well. Here’s a close up:

The animals and accessories are all included in the set. It’s a lot of fun and includes a cash register, fish, mouse, a little spray bottle and more are all with this set for realistic play!
We also received the Polly Pocket DVD to preview. My daughter really enjoyed watching the characters from her play set come to life on TV. The music was catchy and the whole DVD kept the kids attention, which is perfect for me. I can’t ask for anything more when it comes to a children’s DVD. We are huge fans of Polly Pocket and I love all the changes they have made to these products. While I do think you COULD transport them and have them be portable, I think the smaller pieces would be too risky to lose. I don’t see this as a portable item for our family. If you have a larger family, and you have a few play sets, you could put the pieces in a container together with a lid. That would transport the pieces fine. The play sets are sturdy enough to transport without the worry of them breaking. Don’t forget to also check out my post on the Polly Pocket Hangout and Stick and Play Pieces (more detailed photos of the new suction cup design).

My daughter LOVES Polly Pocket! I might have to show her this before she decides what to ask Santa for this year. :)
