Recipe: Time For Smores?!

We love having bonfires with the kids. They love them as much as we do. I think the real love her comes from the S’mores! We can’t wait to get at the marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers fast enough! The s’mores are absolutely amazing and I’ve gotten compliments on how well I make them.. I have to admit, my s’mores are very delicious! I roast the marshmallow JUST RIGHT. This is a skill you learn over time, but I’ve mastered it! My kids still burn quite a few, but that doesn’t stop them from slapping on some chocolate and wrapping it with graham crackers!

This summer we will have plenty of get togethers and plenty of cookouts with bonfires. Entertaining is really something I enjoy and take a lot of pride in. I love having all the kids and all the adults get together. We headed to Aldi to pick up some of the summer staples that we will need. With everything from hamburger pickles and buns, to cake mixes, wine and everything in between, Aldi is a great resource for a budget friendly get together! You can find more of the amazing deals for summer at Aldi.

It’s been pretty WET here with a lot of rain. On the days it’s not raining it’s pretty cool. We haven’t been able to enjoy summer the way that it was ment to be enjoyed yet. This last weekend we did have 2 very very hot days and we headed to the pool with the kids, but this was the first swim of the year because frankly it just wasn’t warm enough! This has also put a damper on our bon fires and of course ours s’mores. The kids were getting antsy and it was time to fix it. I had bought the items for s’mores a while back and it’s been sitting and taunting the kids. I was surprised to learn that on the side of the Benton’s Graham Crackers was a recipe for Graham Snackers, an indoor way to make s’mores! Music to my ears!

graham snackers, graham cracker, graham cracker treats, s'mores, smores, smores recipe, indoor smores recipe, campfire free smores, smores in the oven, smores in the microwave

These are called Graham Snackers and they are SO delicious! I love them and it was certainly a fix to the s’more’s the kids and I had been craving! All the supplies to make these delicious treats, which can be enjoyed year round, can be found at your local Aldi store. You’ll want to pick up Choceur Milk Chocolate Bar ($1.49), Benton’s Graham Crackers ($1.49), Baker’s Corner Regular Marshmallows ($.99) and for decoration I used Baker’s Corner Patriotic Sprinkle Jar ($2.99). That’s right.. a little less then $4 (minus the sprinkles) for a whole lot of goodness. These are the prices you will find all through your Aldi’s store. I REALLY love the sprinkles. I am not sure about the rest of you, but we can NEVER find nice sprinkles for baking here unless you hit the cake making store and then you are paying 3 times that amount for a much smaller jar. This is a lot (6.5 oz) and we’ve used them several time with MANY more uses to come!

Here’s the recipe for the Graham Snacker’s:

This was a delicious treat and a huge hit for us. The kids loved them, as did we. It’s good to know that even if the weather isn’t cooperating, we can still have the treat we love! This would also be a great night time snack for sleepovers!
