{CLOSED} Karen Kane: Style, Comfort, and Sophistication

When it comes to quality and fashionable clothing, there have been times that I have been disappointed. I’ve been let down in the past by a number of products and a number of styles. This for me is the reason I will rarely buy MY clothes online. I ran across Karen Kane and I couldn’t help fall in love. I loved the style and the lines and with some upcoming trips and dinners, I was really in need of some nice business casual dress clothes. Karen Kane was my solution. I’ll admit, I had a hard time choosing the perfect outfit. There was so many choices and one of the trips in September I am not sure about how the weather will be. I wanted to be able to wear my new outfit then.

I decided on a dress. The 3/4 sleeve wrap top dress was my choice and it’s perfect! With the sleeve length it will give me a little more coverage if it’s a bit cool or we are in a place with air conditioning. It’s also about knee length which is perfect for me. My husband took this picture of me in the dress. He’s not the perfect photographer, but I have to admit, he did a pretty good job! The dress is so comfortable and flows amazingly. I love the quality and many of the features of the dress. I have a very hourglass body shape so I was glad to see that this FIT and FLATTERED those areas of my body, rather then the likewise and making me look horrible. The Sapphire Sky collection is new for fall 2011 and contains many pieces for many different looks.

Some details and some of my favorite features: One of my least favorite features of clothing that needs to be on the hanger, those plastic straps. I understand the point of them and I do appreciate them, but I am just not sure WHAT the point is on having them be 10″ long. Really. This dress has them for extra security when hanging, but they are literally 2″ and do exactly what they are supposed to do. Likewise, I do not have the urge to rip them out when I wear the dress, so they will continue to serve their purpose! Next up is the care instructions. I am a busy mom and blogger on the go. I don’t care for dry cleaning. I need to be able to get ready and go and be able to wash as needed. Guess what? This dress is totally MACHINE WASHABLE!! I can’t even tell you how much that makes me happy. Dry cleaning is so not my thing, never was. The last feature that I was rather surprised about was the ‘Made in USA‘ tag. Now I have no problems with things NOT made in the USA, but as a USA citizen, I can’t help but wish more things were made here and kept jobs here.
