{GIVEAWAY} FyrFlyz: Create Your Own Light Show

Fyrflyz are a neat new toy for you to create your own little light show in your home. These are so neat and fun to play with. It’s a pretty simple concept, but it kept the kids busy for a while and was extra fun once it was dark outside or in the house.

Each FyrFlyz toy is a precision balanced instrument designed to spin on its axis. Simply by swinging the connected two strings and applying tension or allowing slack, kids create a continuous movement (figure eights, rings, etc.). The fun begins when the lights go out and the FyrFlyz multi-color LED lights turn the movement into an amazing light show that kids can play themselves or show their friends. FyrFlyz, retailing for under $10 each, will be available in a variety of light colors making them a collectible for ages 8 and up. Available nationwide end of July 2011.

We do have a lot of fun with our Fyrflyz, but there was one thing that I thought about when we were playing with the toy. I didn’t think much of it until my husband mentioned the same thing. The string is made of a non-stretchy nylon type material. It’s really a yo-yo type concept in that respect. However, I couldn’t help but think that this would be more fun with some elastic type string. Not a full blown elastic material, but some give would be good. At any rate, we truly had a good time with this toy. Here’s a video of my son playing with his Fyrflyz:

He actually had a lot of fun and still plays with it quite a bit. This video is him in the beginning stages and he has gotten much better at it now.
