I try to keep things as clean and clear as possible here. Part of the reasons for that is my husband’s sinus troubles and my daughter’s delicate lungs. She was a preemie born at 35 weeks 1 day. Even though she is 9 now and really fully caught up to other children her age, the winter months and dust seem to effect her lungs more then my 6 year old. My husband’s sinuses have always been bothered by dust so this is something that is a more sensitive subject for our family.
We’ve had the Electrolux Oxygen Ultra air cleaner in our home for about 2 weeks now. It’s been on auto and we run it daily. Up until today the weather has been so hot that we have had the house closed and the central air on. You know that stale smell you tend to get and the closed home smell. Well we have completely eliminated that with this air cleaner. We also have a dog so there is sometimes dander from him. People coming over the last 2 weeks HAVE commented on the air in our home. Our living room, dining room and kitchen are open concept. Although I have the unit in my living room it works great through this LARGER area. Although the unit states it’s made for 403 square feet, it is working wonderfully in the larger area for us. I would defiantly go with the recommended square foot though if you are wanting FULL benefits.
The air cleaner is awesome in detecting odors. With the built in sensor the fans adjusts automatically. This is great for me having a dog. He comes in from outside and cares that extra special smell. The air cleaner kicks more and quickly absorbs the smell. A few other things I love about the Electrolux Oxygen air cleaner are:
- Remote control – offers ease of use from anywhere in the room. This is especially nice for me when I am sitting on the couch and want to adjust the fan.
- Easy-carry Handle – The neat little handle is built into the machine and doesn’t look out of place. This allows for easy transporting of the machine from room to room!
- Lights and Indicators – the lights tell me what fan speed the air cleaner is on, indicator tells me the odor level and replace filter indicators tell me when I need to replace my filter taking out the guess work.
The 3 stage filtration on this unit is great. a carbon filter reduces odor then a true HEPA filtration system captures 99.97% of the dust, pet dander and pollen in the air. The PlasmaWave technology works to neutralize viruses, bacteria, chemical vapors odors and gasses in the air {according to 3rd party testing}. This would be fantastic for our allergies and my daughter’s asthma. Three of the four in this house take allergy medicine EVERY DAY!
It seems like this would work great for people that have musty basements. I know in our old house we really needed something to circulate the air in our basement, especially in the bedroom down there.
I love Electrolux products and had no idea they made these. We have air cleaners in every room of our house, so I’ll def. have to check this one out.
